In the first 5 months, the mother’s bonus was requested by over 74% of those entitled to it

In the first 5 months of 2024 alone, the mothers’ bonus was requested by between 74% and 75% of those entitled. Government sources point this out in reference to data published today by the press.
Last July 3, the Undersecretary of Labor and Social Policies Claudio Durigon, answering in the Labor Commission, explained: “With regard to the operation of the measure, I represent that the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies has carried out an in-depth investigation involving the technical offices of INPS who have communicated that on the basis of the statistical evidence of the first months of the year (January-May) the group of workers benefiting from the mother bonus was approximately 550 thousand, equal to approximately 75 percent of the group potentially interested in the same period. The overall number of beneficiary workers is destined to grow due to a physiological increase over the time of the start of the new measure and the entry of new workers during the year”. On the same day, the Minister for Family, Birth Rate and Equal Opportunities Eugenia Roccella underlined during question time in the Chamber: «In the first five months, access to the measure was requested by over 74 percent of those entitled, that is, three out of four women (INPS data)». Data which then, it is noted, have further increased.
