Hades 2 from the studio Supergiant Games, already released in early access on Steam (and immediately in Ukrainian), immediately began to break the popularity records of its predecessor.
After a short period of closed alpha testing, the long-awaited Hades 2 was released on May 6 in early access Steam .
Po data SteamDB, the number of concurrent players in Hades 2 has reached 103,567 people and is hovering around 100,000. Hades 1 only reached 37,749 concurrent players in 2020, days after its full launch on Steam.
The first part of Hades received wide recognition among players and won several awards, including BAFTA. But its early release in 2019 was exclusive to the Epic Games Store, and it appeared on Steam only after development was completed. Hades 2, however, is available natively on both platforms, which helps explain its greater popularity. writes PC Gamer.
“The first Hades was originally planned for early release, so Hades II, our first sequel, will be developed in a similar way. We are confident that everything in this game (from gameplay balance to story) can be improved with community feedback,” the developers indicate.
They plan to leave Hades 2 in Early Access throughout 2024 and add new content to the game. It is claimed that the second part already has more locations and voiced characters than the original Hades.
The game already supports Ukrainian localization at this stage. The translation of a fairly large amount of material (the first Hades had more than 300,000 words, and the sequel even more) was independently completed by Bogdana Voznyuk, who previously localized games in Ukrainian in the Shlyakbitraf union.
Hades 2 can be purchased from Steam for 600 UAH. The developers warn that after the game leaves early access, the price may increase.
