In the final stretch to Dutch elections, Geert Wilders’ radical right-wing PVV is gaining strength in polls

Yet one party, and especially one man, stands out from the poll: Geert Wilders with his party PVV. That party has been climbing higher in the polls over the past week.

“Migration is an explanation,” says Bram Vandeputte, who follows the elections in the Netherlands, in “Terzake”. That is one of the themes that most concerns voters, and the theme that Geert Wilders has always focused on.

“But it is also noticeable that he seems to have become more moderate in his communication in recent days. The press is even talking about Geert Milders. He no longer wants to make his anti-Islam positions – ban on mosques, on Islam – a spearhead in his campaign, but they are still in his program.”
