The energy sector is “hot” at the moment, including many deals with – as the law firm Sorainen calls them – paper projects involving the development of solar or wind farms.

The initial developer has reserved capacities, carried out the design, received a building permit, but the project is looking for an investor or a buyer who can further implement it.

Investments in the green energy sector are expected to flow in at a high rate. “In our office, the demand for energy sector projects has grown significantly,” admits Sorainen’s partner, sworn lawyer Lelde Laviņa. And the more projects are pursued, the more often gaps are seen.
