The Busan Central Police Department announced on the 1st that it is investigating inspector A belonging to a parent police station in Busan, who was caught gambling with hundreds of thousands of won in stake.
According to the police, Inspector A was caught gambling on a stake worth 350,000 won at a store in Jung-gu, Busan around 9:30 pm on the 30th of last month.
The police who were dispatched after receiving 112 reports stating “having a private meeting with 5 or more people” caught 5 people, including Inspector A, at the scene.
The police referred Inspector A to a summary judgment and informed the competent ward office of the violation of the Infectious Disease Prevention Act.
An official from the Busan Police Agency said, “We will actively work to prevent recurrence, and if similar cases occur, we will respond strictly.”
