Students of EG ‘Plovdiv’ will start the learning process at 7:30 after switching to a single-shift regime, if the Minister of Education and Science allows it, reported Plovdiv24.bg the school principal Nikolai Radev.

The management of EG “Plovdiv” and the Higher School Public Council are preparing a request to the Ministry of Education and Culture for an exception to Regulation 10. According to the current rule, classes start at 7:30 in a two-system in shifts and at 8am in a single shift system. The Minister may allow the head of the RUO to issue an emergency order that the former English High School’s first lesson would be at 7:30 and after 1am the shift it had passed. If the proposal is approved, the school will remain with the same curriculum.

The proposal will be discussed today at a parent meeting so that all parents can get to know it, the director said.

The idea of requesting the exception in Ordinance 10 is because of heavy traffic. In the morning the buses are full of language high school graduates, so the two schools start classes at different times. The order to switch to an English shift is being prepared and should be published after the new year.

The ordinance must remain on the website of the Ministry of Education and Culture for a month and a half, and only then will it come into force. The director Nikolai Radev he estimates that this will become a fact in the middle of the second term, not at the start.
