During the first confinement, the drive slots of supermarkets in the district of Montluçon had been taken by storm. This time, like last spring, orders exploded in the days preceding the confinement … until gradually, from the first days of November, decreasing in some stores.
The confinement has boosted the frequentation of drives to supermarkets in Montluçon and in its basin
“We have less of this explosive effect”
“Now it’s back to rather normal,” says an employee of the Intermarché La Rotonde store in Montluçon.
It is even possible to have a time slot during the day to collect your order since, in the end, there are a little less orders than during the first containment.

The Auchan store in Montluçon makes a slightly different observation: “We don’t have a conventional drive. We have a store-picking [une préparation de commandes en magasin, NDLR]. But since the start of containment, we have doubled the number of orders. On the other hand, we have less of this explosive effect than we saw the last time, ”says Charles Jacquot, director.
In Montluçon (Allier), independent booksellers are turning to “click and collect” to limit the breakage of containment
“It’s pretty huge at the moment”
But, in some stores, the demand is as high as last spring. And the cruising speed that certain supermarkets have found again seems a long way off for them.
“It’s pretty huge right now, as much as during the first confinement, so we are adapting. “

“It’s quite huge at the moment, as much as during the first confinement, so we adapt,” says Yannick Méritet, manager of the Carrefour Market store in Commentry.
“We have doubled our number of orders compared to our structure, with the number of customers remaining stable in stores with significant peaks in attendance. “The deadlines for obtaining a drive slot remain, however, fairly short.
