In autopsies performed on the corpses of those who have lost their lives to Kovid-19, it was claimed that the virus was transmitted to the brain.
Researchers from the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) examined the autopsy results of 44 people with an average age of 62.5 years, some of whom had additional diseases and died from Kovid-19.
According to AA news; The bodies of these people, who had not all been vaccinated against Covid-19, were autopsied between April 2020 and March 2021.
By examining blood samples taken from the corpses, the researchers detected the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes Kovid-19, in the blood plasma of 38 corpses.
The researchers concluded that SARS-CoV-2 was not detected in the blood plasma of 3 cadavers, while the remaining 3 had no blood plasma.
On the other hand, researchers have detected RNA in different parts or fluids of corpses.
SARS-COV-2 RNA FOUND IN THE HYPOTHALAMUS, CERECULAR, STEM AND BASAL GANGLIO
In the study, large samples were taken from the nervous system tissues of 11 of the cadavers.
SARS-CoV-2 RNA was detected in the hypothalamus and cerebellum in one body and in the spinal cord and basal ganglia in both.
On the other hand, it was concluded that the brain damage by the SARS-CoV-2 RNAs found was “minor”.
Meanwhile, in research, it was also confirmed that Kovid-19 first damaged the airways and lung tissue.
The researchers said that in the first two weeks of Covid-19 symptoms, the virus multiplies in many regions that are not related to breathing.
The results of the research have been published in the journal “Nature”.
