After the first injection, infection with coronavirus was confirmed in 23.3 thousand people, which is 0.5% of those vaccinated.
In the Czech Republic, out of 5.08 million residents fully vaccinated against coronavirus, 4,570 people, or 0.09%, were infected with the infection. Such data on Monday, August 9, made public local ČTK publication with reference to the Institute for Health Information and Statistics.
As indicated, a resident of the republic is considered immunized against COVID-19 14 days after receiving the second dose of Pfizer / BioNTech, Moderna or AstraZeneca vaccines, or the only dose of Johnson & Johnson.
At the same time, according to the Institute, after the first injection, infection with coronavirus was confirmed in 23.3 thousand people, which is 0.5% of those vaccinated.
At the same time, experts say that recently, most of the new infections have occurred in those residents of the Czech Republic who have not received a single dose of the vaccine. These are mainly young people and middle-aged people.
Note that since the beginning of the pandemic, 1.7 million cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the republic with a population of 10.7 million. Of these, 1.6 million ended in recovery and more than 30 thousand – in death.
Reportedly, the Czech government approved the prime minister’s proposal Andriy Babish on the provision of two additional days of paid leave to civil servants who are vaccinated against COVID-19.
