If after a serious accident the technical inspection of the vehicle is canceled or the insurers have assessed that the car is considered to be damaged – its repair is not technically possible or economically unreasonable – such a fact is noted in the CSDD register.

The information is available in the e-CSDD section “Technical inspection data” and can be received by any potential car buyer. Thus, the buyer can avoid an unpleasant surprise and pay attention to the actual condition of the car.

We remind you that the Latvian Motor Insurers’ Bureau (LTAB) Homepage, by entering the number plate or chassis number (VIN) of a vehicle registered in Latvia, it is possible to obtain information on the accident history of your existing or potential vehicle, concluded insurance contracts and other important information.

Data on LTAB website can be obtained for those registered since 1997 OCTA cases that have occurred both in the territory of Latvia and abroad for the period when the vehicle is registered in Latvia. In case the specific vehicle is the injured party to the accident, the data subscriber will also receive information on the amount of compensation, after which it will be possible to assess the amount of the accident and the resulting damage.
