In the coming days, companies colluding with corruption in health in Edomex will be exhibited

In a few days, the federal government will expose the companies colluding with acts of corruption in the health system in the state of Mexico – until the last state administration -, which even led to the privatization of public hospital pharmacies.

“We are going to report it here,” President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced this Thursday morning at the National Palace.

He added that next week, the governors of the 23 entities that have adhered to the new federalization scheme of the public health system, known as IMSS-Bienestar, will attend the conference next Tuesday to give details of how progress has been made in each one of the states.

Without asking a question, the Chief Executive referred to the criticism that has been launched from various sectors, especially opponents, and in some media, against the agreement that orders that medicines be administered by Birmex to so that if the Issste has a certain drug that the IMSS does not have, it can be sent to you without any problem.

The health issue, said the president, “has been complicated” because ten companies linked to interest groups had the exclusivity to sell and distribute medicines in the country.

And now, he indicated, those same interests oppose the drugs being used by any health entity.

For this reason, he assured that details of the linked companies will be given shortly.

“I’m going to have to inform you, because this helps a lot, about how the contracts were in the state of Mexico, how the public hospital pharmacies were privatized and who the companies were. We are going to report it here.

“Because there is an agreement that everyone can supply themselves with medicine, in Birmex, and everyone (opposes it). “The thing is that in all this public health mess, the purchase of medicines, equipment, distribution, communication or information or manipulation companies were involved.”
