In the Cherkasy region, about 200 fishermen were carried away on an ice floe

In the Zolotonoshsky district of Cherkasy on Saturday, February 12, an ice floe broke away, on which there were up to 200 fishermen. Rescuers were sent to the scene to rescue people.

“The fisherman who called the Rescue Service said that the incident happened on the traverse of the pumping station, the ice floe was drifting in the direction of the Poltava region,” the report says.

The press service noted that about 70 people were brought ashore by two fishing boats. About 100 people made it to the shore on their own.

No one was injured and no one called for medical help.
