I protest against the intention of “We continue the change” to give Sofia region to “Democratic Bulgaria” in the upcoming elections, the former head of the forestry agency and ex-deputy from the “Change” Alexander Dunchev said in the program “This Sunday” on BTV.
He clarified that Kiril Petkov offered him to be second in the list of the PP-DB coalition in Sofia region, which was unacceptable. And he added that Petkov’s claim that Dunchev and his team refused to participate in the elections was not true.
“We have not given up, but we are protesting against an attempt to give Sofia-region to DB with an unprincipled decision, without taking into account the specifics of Sofia-region and the efforts made by the people and the team to win back this region from the mafia , took over the municipalities there”.
Dunchev did not agree with the fact that the lists for the upcoming elections are arranged for economic reasons. They should have young and principled people to do the work.
“Either the coalition DB and PP revise their decision and return the leadership in Sofia-PP region, or our team leaves and look for other people and other candidates. They impose a model that we are fighting against – to put our people somewhere , no matter who did what,” he added.
In the Sofia region, Dunchev’s team showed how the change should be made with their fight against the timber mafia and local feudal lords in logging. And now it was proposed to make unprincipled compromises, which Dunchev could not accept. Therefore, he refused to run the list in another constituency.
According to Dunchev, such agreements showed that there is a backstage in “Promyanata”. The party was supposed to lead the lists in the Sofia region, and Dunchev himself had no claims to be in the first place. If there is no decision for the PP to lead the list, Dunchev would have told about all the efforts to change “Promyanata”, because it was not a question of an internal party battle, but of the change of Bulgaria. Dunchev would continue the fight against the mafia, even if he had to leave “Promyanata”.
