He deceived the vigilance of a retired. Thursday, May 27, 2021, a man was arrested in Lille, suspected of having stole the phone of a septuagenarian on the Place du Théâtre. He was also found with a pants stolen from a store.
Caught stealing a retiree’s phone
According to a judicial source, the police on patrol on the Place du Théâtre spotted, around 5 p.m. the individual who was trying to steal phones from passers-by, many on this sunny Thursday, on the Place du Théâtre.
They caught the individual stealing the phone from the back pocket of a 74-year-old woman and set off after him.
In his escape, the suspect got rid of the phone and a satchel. The man is finally arrested. The phone was recovered and returned to its owner. In the bag, pants were found. A store reported that he had been robbed earlier today.
The 29-year-old suspect has been taken into police custody.
