In the Caribbean Netherlands, election profit goes to CDA and newcomer Ubuntu | NOW

In the three special municipalities of Bonaire, Saba and St. Eustatius, the votes for the House of Representatives elections have now also been counted. On Bonaire and Saba, the CDA received the most votes, while on St. Eustatius newcomer Ubuntu Connected Front (UCF) won the prize.

On St. Eustatius, UCF obtained half of the votes (50.5 percent). With that, the new party, which wants to fight against inequality, knocks the CDA from the throne, which won 78.2 percent of the votes four years ago. The Christian Democrats are now in second place with about a third of the vote.

So far, UCF has obtained 1,575 votes across the Netherlands. UCF received 320 votes on St. Eustatius.

The turnout on the Caribbean Dutch island was 33.8 percent. That is higher than the 23.3 percent of four years ago.

D66 is no longer the largest party on Bonaire

Voter turnout on Bonaire at 22.6 percent was slightly higher than four years ago.

The second party on Saba is BIJ1 with 113 votes, of which 105 for Lysanne Charles from Saba.

In 2017, D66 was the largest party on Saba with 115 votes. The party now received 42. The fourth party is the VVD with 28 votes, 15 of which for Minister Tamara van Ark, who likes to be seen on the smallest Caribbean island of the kingdom.
