The first volume of a new e-book series by Miriam Rademacher has been available in German stores since November 2021.
Content: 2 corpses are found in a remote moor in Lower Saxony. Shaken up by the murders, village commissioner Markus Sennenberger quickly founds a Soko.
He appoints the young, dynamic investigator Derio Conte & the investigator Fiona Sacher to his team.
Anyone who impresses 3 investigators with a large portion of individuality and a preference for things unconventionally. After a short time, the determined relationships are more than complex & unsettling.
The cover: Due to the choice of dark, worn colors and the title, it becomes a good guide for this detective novel. However, it can set itself apart from its competitors.
My personal reading impression:
As is so often the case, I was eagerly awaiting the start of the series. Even on the first few pages, I was very impressed by the narrative style.
With a keen sense, the author lets well-dosed humor flow into the story. An exciting complex story, accompanied by criminal acts, unfolds. The investigations lead into areas that were previously not an issue in the crime novels I have read. Because of this, I find this book to be particularly interesting and exciting. The statements made have an effect on my thoughts even after I have finished reading.
Conclusion: a successful start to the series. Grippy characters, a touch of humor that supports the tension rather than sabotaging it. A clear, very good 4 * star reading recommendation combined with the wish to be able to accompany further investigations of the trio.
