More resources. It is clear that Governor Javier Corral Jurado wants to close his administration with a flourish. In 2021 he will finish his term as governor and he still has some pending projects and others that he wants to start, so a large sum of money is required.
The president requested a credit of 1.6 billion pesos, of which a good part would be used for the necessary public works in the different municipalities, but the matter was blocked in the State Congress, as opposition legislators agreed that the amount is excessive.
The Finance Commission agreed that the Income Law and Expenditure Budget will be voted, which will include the amount requested, however, the approval or rejection will be known in the first days of January. It is difficult for the deputies to make a decision. They weigh a possible debt and the long-term benefit of citizens.
Arturo Fuentes, Secretary of the Treasury of Chihuahua, stated that the sooner the resources are available and their provision begins, the faster this benefit will be available. We will see if this argument is sufficient for Members. The plenary session will have the decision in their hands.
Goals. At the end of 2020, a chaotic year in every way, the mayor of Ciudad Juárez, Armando Cabada Alvídrez, asked the Security corporations to concentrate all their efforts to guarantee the well-being of citizens, on dates where reflection and the statement of objectives are present.
December has registered a drop in intentional homicides, however, stressed the municipal president, it cannot be celebrated yet, because the idea is that the figure is much lower and that can only be achieved with the daily work, both of the corporations and the implementation of programs that keep young people away from criminal activities.
Contrary to other officials, Cabada Alvídrez recognized the Federal Government for making the decision to close the Federal Center for Social Readaptation (Cefereso) number 9, because even when it is understood the impact that it means for families, this will support the city in safety matter.
The corporations are clear about their objective for the following year: to combat and reduce crime, and the key to achieving this is coordination between them. Even with the changes in local administrations, both the form and the substance should not be lost, the citizens will surely appreciate it.
Honesty. With the end of the year people get thoughtful. They question themselves their role in society and the benefit they bring. Individuals who engage in politics know their role: serving society, the way they do it can vary and the perception you have of them as well.
The senator with a license, Gustavo Madero Muñoz considered that politics is the art of serving with honesty, a value that officials have appreciated, but that at the same time is very easy to lose, hence the importance of questioning how they are doing their job .
Madero, a pre-candidate of the National Action Party (PAN) for governor, commented that the servants maintain closeness with the citizens. It is illogical that this is not the case, but there are cases in which it does. At any cost, the fracture in the relationship between the government and the governed must be avoided.
We’ll see if the licensed senator maintains that value, wherever it is placed in the near future.
Re-election. In Guerreo, the municipal president Carlos Comadurán, does not rule out being in the competition again, he waits for the official times of the party to present his intentions to be re-elected, and assures that the work carried out so far will be worth him to obtain the support of the inhabitants.
Comadurán has already held the post of mayor in the 1990s, but with the backing of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). However, his past through the tricolor seems to have not affected him, to such a degree that he truly considers running again with Morena.
The mayor said that in his administration, consensus has been reached among the different fractions to issue an agreement that benefits citizens. Its main objective at the beginning was to bring drinking water and electricity to the mountain communities, although it is not yet 100 percent complete.
The Ecotourism Park of the Abraham González Dam is perhaps the emblematic work of this municipal administration. The first stage was built with an investment of 19 million pesos from all levels of government and there is a project for a second stage. It will be enough?
