On the Argentine side of the border, police officers and soldiers evacuated 120 people on Sunday, but about 200 more people are in vehicles at an altitude of more than 3,000 meters and cannot continue their journey due to the thick snow cover.
More than 200 people have also found themselves in a similar situation on the Chilean side of the border.
The air temperature in this area is about minus ten degrees Celsius.
The evacuation of people is planned to continue on Monday, but the bad weather is preventing it.
