They learned the news this Sunday March 28 at the end of the afternoon: after sounding the alert and announcing that they would exercise their right of withdrawal, the teachers of the elementary school of the château des rentiers, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, won their case. The academic director of the national education services (DASEN) announced to them the closure, until March 31 inclusive, of the establishment.
Already a week ago, on Sunday March 21, the elementary school teams had secretly obtained the closure of the establishment. The professors were only three not to be contaminated by the coronavirus, out of twelve usually to take care of the 265 students. This Sunday, March 28, they again alerted the academic services not to reopen when five professors were able to resume and that “the sanitary measures were not there”.
These few days of respite are “good news” for Caroline, one of the teachers. Like her colleagues, she is now waiting to know the conditions of a return to school: “we were told that there might be saliva tests”. Tests essential for reopening according to her, “to have a precise picture of the circulation of the virus in the establishment and not to endanger the students, their families and the vulnerable people in these families”.
