(ANSA) – ROME, NOV 09 – The streets of Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities were filled this evening with family members of the hostages still in the hands of Hamas who want to underline the 400 days since the kidnappings of their loved ones. These are – comments The Times of Israel – the first Saturday evening rallies after the ‘dismissal’ of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu which have already sparked street protests. Tonight’s largest gathering, sponsored by the Hostage Families Forum, takes place in Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square, with smaller rallies in Jerusalem, Kiryat Gat, the southern Shaar HaNegev crossroads and elsewhere. Anti-government and pro-hostage agreement protesters also demonstrated on Tel Aviv’s Begin Street, outside the IDF headquarters. The Forum said the Hostages Square rally, “marking these unimaginable 400 days,” will feature “public representatives who reflect the broad diversity of the Israeli people” who will “express the public’s demand for the restitution of all hostages”.
