For Johnny de Mol it was an exciting week to say the least with the whole situation surrounding The Voice, the victims and his family that became discredited. Friday evening at the end of his talk show HLF8 there seemed to be an emotional release when he wiped a tear.

Johnny indicated that he spoke with his editors for an hour before the broadcast about transgressive behavior and sexual violence. In the broadcast he again dealt with the abuses behind the scenes of The Voice of Holland.

Johnny said he felt that since the revelations of the online program Angry, there have been “a lot of emotions” in his editorial team, which consists largely of women. “I felt a tension.”
The presenter then called Iva Bicanic, the head of the Sexual Violence Center who was in the talk show Beau on RTL several times in recent days to explain the events at TVOH. “I called her and said: what should I do? There is a lot of hassle. Then she said, sit down and listen. And I did that.”
De Mol called the conversation with his editors ‘enlightening and pleasant’. Afterwards, he felt “a kind of calm,” he said. “And then we could talk about the program again, about things we had to do again tonight without it getting too much. Everyone had a chance to have their say. And after I listened, I could also ask some questions.”

‘Spokesman’
On Monday, Johnny more or less acted as a spokesperson for his father in his program, after it came out on Saturday that RTL immediately removed The Voice from the tube because of sexually transgressive behavior that would have taken place. His former brother-in-law, Jeroen Rietbergen, released a statement shortly afterwards and – like Johnny’s father – came under fire. He said in HLF8 about his blown-up uncle: “What an incredible bastard… But we do love him.”
Johnny de Mol is the nephew of Linda de Mol. She lived with Jeroen Rietbergen for years, but announced in a statement on Monday that she had kicked him out of the house.
