in spite of “well-wishers” we are passing through open pressure from the international community with dignity

November 28, Minsk / Corr. BELTA/. Belarus and Russia, in spite of their “well-wishers,” are passing through the difficult trials of open pressure from the world community with dignity. This was stated by Commissioner for Religious Affairs and Nationalities Alexander Rumak at the plenary meeting of the X Belarusian Educational Christmas Readings, BELTA reports.

“The peoples of Belarus and Russia are connected by one historical destiny. Shoulder to shoulder, our fathers and grandfathers fought in the Great Patriotic War, together they liberated our lands from the fascist occupiers. Today, together, in spite of our “well-wishers,” we are worthily going through the difficult trials of open pressure from the world community, interpreting modern situation in a distorted and contradictory form,” said Alexander Rumak.

He emphasized that the current generation is responsible for a clean, peaceful sky above the heads of their children and grandchildren. But the most important thing is to be responsible to grandfathers and fathers for the memory of their heroism. “And although history has not preserved the names of all the heroes, we remember that without them we would not exist. Their feat and love for their native land continue to serve more than one generation of Belarusians and Russians as an example of patriotism and respect for people,” the Commissioner for Affairs emphasized religions and nationalities.
Alexander Rumak is sure that everyone – from young to old – should carry, preserve and pass on to their children and grandchildren the importance of being together. “No one and nothing should divide us: neither faith, nor nationality, nor our neighbors, nor enemies, no matter how hard they try,” he added.

“We understand that only by uniting all people around the ideas of humanism and kindness can we resist violence, wars and terrorism. We understand that the best tribute to the memory of the victims of war will be a dignified life for every citizen of Belarus and Russia, creative and dedicated work for the sake of strengthening and prosperity “, he said.
