The President of the Spanish Government Pedro Sánchez was blunt at a party event that he led in Madrid as part of the celebrations for his re-election. There he charged against the advance of the right and put the elected president of Argentina in that scheme. “Spain is an open and tolerant country, feminist and environmentalist, lover of peace and social justice, in which neither Trump, nor Bolsonaro, nor Milei will prosper,” he stated.
Thus, the Spanish president referred to the former presidents of the United States and Brazil, and added to his critical combo Javier Milei, who has not yet taken office but has solid ties with the other two mentioned.
The criticism of the president of Spain was during an event of the Socialist Party (PSOE) that took place this Sunday in Madrid.
In this context, Sánchez once again defended the future amnesty law for Catalan independentists with which he believes that Spain will be a country “more cohesive, with more coexistence and more united than ever”, from which even those who criticize the norm, and pointed it at its most severe adversaries: the Popular Party (PP) and Vox, the latter which it positions in the same tandem of its international phrase.
“The right and the extreme right that demand that Spain defend itself from a risk that does not exist are going to benefit from the amnesty law,” he insisted on the measure with which he managed to continue in power.
Under the motto “Four more years of progress, Spain advances,” Sánchez celebrated his re-election and harangued: “There are going to be four more years of a progressive government.” And he again charged against his opponents: “We do have a project for Spain. The right and the extreme right only have insults for half of Spain.”
The party event in the Spanish capital took place after Sánchez’s visit to the East, which concluded with a diplomatic clash between Israel with Spain and Belgium.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reproached the head of the Spanish Government and his traveling companion, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, for “not condemning Hamas’ crimes against humanity.”
