In Spain, the number of cases of coronavirus has exceeded one million, according to data collected on Wednesday, making Spain the first country in the European Union (EU) to exceed this limit. The government said on Tuesday that it was considering new restrictions, possibly including night curfew, as has already been done in France and Belgium. The Spanish tourism industry will suffer more than 100 billion euros in losses this year due to the coronavir pandemic, the tourism lobby group Exceltur warned on Wednesday. If these forecasts come true, the annual income of the Spanish tourism sector will fall to the level of 1995, the group points out.
