In September, inflation was 12.7% | INDEC report

In September inflation reached 12.7 percent, thus accumulating 103.2 percent in the first nine months of the year and a year-on-year increase of 138.3 percent. The number comes after the exchange rate run on the blue dollar, which shot up to 1,000 pesos after Javier Milei’s statements.

Where were the biggest increases?

According to Indec, the item with the greatest increase in September was Pclothing and footwear (15.7%)followed by Recreation and culture (15.1%).

However, Food and non-alcoholic beverages was the category that contributed the highest incidence on the monthly variation in all regions of the country.

The two divisions that recorded the smallest variations in September were Education (8.1%) and Housing, water, electricity and Other fuels (8.5%).

By category, Seasonal goods and services led the increase in the period with an increase of 14.7%, followed by the Core CPI (13.4%), while Regulated registered an increase of 8.3%.

The areas with the greatest increases

According to the organization led by Marco Lavagna, The region with the largest monthly price increase was Patagonia (14.0%); while the smallest increase was recorded in Greater Buenos Aires (12.2%)
