Retweeted over 300 times
The timing, well balanced, hit the mark. On the blue bird social network, the post was retweeted more than 300 times and commented on by enthusiastic internet users.
Like “Popo”, who writes: “really incredible work, well done, I’m a fan! I hope you will have an internship very soon ”.
“I received a lot of private messages from people who congratulated me, as well as a lot of positive feedback from those close to me,” says Julien.
With Julien, Konbini becomes “Konfeti”
Earlier, last December, Julien had already posted – always on Twitter – another CV in an equally original format. We see him, facing the camera, pastiching a video concept by Konbini – now Konfeti for the occasion – and detailing his journey with a touch of self-mockery.
It was during the second confinement. I asked my girlfriend to write some questions in Konbini format. Then we set up a makeshift setup with a tripod and a phone and I did it myself.
Already a precedent
This initiative is reminiscent of another, that of a student who was the first to disseminate a CV inspired by The team and whose echo in June 2020 had been such that it had obtained an article in the sports newspaper. Julien recognizes it easily: he was aware of this approach but precisely wanted to distance himself from it on the merits.
“She favored the interview format, I preferred a more descriptive format, more ‘CV'”, explains Julien, who chose the newspaper The team as a reference, quite simply because it is the “most popular daily in sport in France” and its “touch” is recognizable at first glance.
Julien is afraid for his future because of the Covid-19
His efforts seem to have paid off. Professionally, Julien claims to have had “more feedback than during a more traditional procedure”, although he has still not found his happiness.
It must be said that sport and events are two areas which have been particularly affected by the health and economic crisis. This CV was therefore also a way of “making a difference”, as well as not being in a passive attitude “waiting for offers” but “provoking them by catching the eye of the recruiter”.
Despite everything, Julien affirms it: he is afraid for his future. So much so that he’s already considering “A fallback solution, in case the Covid-19 crisis continues”. In other words, the pursuit of his studies and obtaining a second master’s degree in order to “have a double specialty” but also to let the crisis pass and enter the labor market at a more favorable time.
Covid-19: difficult integration into the labor market for young people
The Covid-19 crisis has further complicated the integration of young graduates into the job market. Between January and April 2020, the volume of job offers for young people with less than one year of experience fell by 65%, according to the Association for the Employment of Executives (Apec). Also according to a study by the association carried out last October, 67% of young graduates looking for their first job say they are worried.

An approach in keeping with the times
For Céline Proffit, founder and director of the Strasbourg firm À la croisée des paths, specializing inprofessional support and guidance, Julien’s approach is interesting in two respects.
On the one hand, it is “very representative of a possible new approach to professional communication”, namely the fact of “personalizing your communication tools.”
Personalizing your CV is a prerequisite. What this young person demonstrates is that we can also personalize communication tools in order to adapt them to our current reality.
And this “reality”, precisely, is marked by its “uncertainty”, further reinforced by the health crisis. This is the second major interest of Julien’s approach: to have been in an active attitude, and to have been able to find a “power of action through creativity”.
As a bonus, Julien was able to demonstrate, thanks to this initiative, “something more and more sought after by recruiters: soft skills or interpersonal skills”. In this case, he showed “agility”, a skill “highly sought after in relation to the new rules of our current world”, explains the specialist.
