Domestic Beshtau M24FHD monitors became available to ordinary consumers, although the developers planned to supply them only to companies and government organizations. Monitors have modern characteristics, but are more expensive than their counterparts from foreign manufacturers.
Something went wrong
Monitors of the domestic brand appeared in Russian retailBestau”, which became known on January 16, 2023. The editors of CNews found them in the catalog internet– shop “Online trade”. At first, the developers did not plan to release them at retail, intending to focus on companies and government agencies.
Production of separate components of Beshtau monitors, as informed CNews, carried out in Rostov-on-Donand the final assembly – in Essentuki. The brand got its name in honor of the mountain of the same name in Stavropol Territory.

At the time of the publication of the material, only monitors of the M24FHD model were available in retail. This is the first novelty of Beshtau – compact 24″ resolution model Full HD or 1920×1080 pixels and matrix IPS or VA depending on the chosen modification.
«Online trade“offers three modifications of this monitor, two of which cost 23.8 thousand rubles, one – 25.8 thousand rubles. The number of monitors available for purchase from this retailer has not been established. It is only known that the total volume of the first batches of M24FHD amounted to 10 thousand copies.
The basic and expensive models, both with IPS-matrices, differ from each other only in the presence of two built-in speakers 1 W each. At the same time, in the second modification for 23.8 thousand rubles. a VA matrix with a contrast ratio of 3000:1 is installed versus 1500:1 for IPS. She also has built-in speakers.
Expensive import substitution
According to its characteristics, the monitor “Bestau» M24FHD, regardless of modification, is not inferior to foreign analogues. At the same time, there is still a difference in price, and it is not in favor of Russian the product.
For example, the editors of CNews found in “citylink“Monitor Iiyama ProLite X2481HS-B1 with a similar diagonal, VA matrix, but without speakers for 14.5 thousand rubles in Moscow.
Also in the capital there is a model Iiyama ProLite X2483HSU-B3 on an AMVA matrix with speakers for 21 thousand rubles. She, but under a different article, can be bought at all for 11.9 thousand rubles. Representatives of Citilink told CNews that these are monitors from different deliveries. They also added that the cost of the same product varies depending on the region. However, the editors of CNews found these monitors In Ekaterinburg, Volgograd, Voronezh and several other Russian cities at exactly the same prices – 11.9 thousand rubles. and 21 thousand rubles.
Unexpected retail
For the first time about the release of Beshtau monitors became known On January 16, 2023, when asked by CNews about plans to enter Russian retail, the developers replied: “So far, the only sales channel is through a distributor, at this stage, retail is not planned, and the retail price, accordingly, has not been determined either.” According to them, the target audience of monitors are companies and state institutions.
For example, on public procurement portal CNews editors found tender for the supply of Beshtau monitors to the Department of Digital Development of Sevastopol for almost 2.24 million rubles. The contract was signed at the beginning of December 2022. The batch volume was 150 units, the price of each monitor was about 14.9 thousand rubles.

Security
However, three days later, Beshtau monitors nevertheless became available to ordinary consumers at a very specific price. When asked by CNews why the plans had changed so drastically, Beshtau representatives replied that they had not, in fact, changed.
“We did not plan and do not plan to distribute through retail chains in the near future. We have a contract with a distributor (Treolan, part of the Group of Companies “Lanite“- approx. CNews), and he, in turn, sells the goods to his partners,” representatives of Beshtau told CNews. They also noted that the company has nothing to do with the distributor’s choice of channels for the sale of monitors.
“The Beshtau monitor is not inferior, and even surpasses foreign counterparts in some characteristics, so it is not surprising that retail chains decided to put them up for sale,” the developers of Beshtau monitors told CNews. “We have no control over further pricing,” they added.
Representatives Treolan told CNews that “Online trade» is a partner of the company and has the opportunity to purchase its entire range. “The vendor has no goal of going retail,” they added.
Gradual transition to Russian
Beshtau products are not only a 24-inch monitor. The company’s plans for the near future include the release of at least one more monitor model, this time with a diagonal of 27 inches.
Grant support for the digitalization of Russian companies will continue
IT industry support
Also, since mid-January 2022, the company has been producing computer peripherals for desktop computers – mice and keyboards. The latter are especially relevant in the light of anti-Russian sentiment in the international arena, when equipment suppliers stopped importing their products to Russian market. In Russia in the summer of 2022, there was a possibility of a shortage of keyboards and laptops with Russian layout. The appearance of models of the domestic brand, supplied by default with Cyrillic alphabet, makes it possible to reduce dependence on foreign suppliers, as well as on compatriots providing engraving services.
In the near future, Beshtau also intends to start producing full-fledged computers in several form factors. These will be at least monoblocs (monitors with built-in “stuffing” from the PC) and nettops.
