The project on changes in the rules of a medical examination for drivers was prepared by the Ministry of Health of Russia. Relevant document published On Friday, June 5, on the federal portal of regulatory acts.
According to the project, now, when receiving a medical certificate, drivers will need to undergo testing to diagnose alcohol use only if the narcologist identifies symptoms of alcoholism.
As noted in the document, laboratory tests of blood or urine will be used to determine alcohol consumption.
Last November, the Ministry of Health planned to change the rules for medical examination of drivers in Russia. According to them, in order to receive a certificate from a narcologist, it was necessary to donate blood and urine to detect psychoactive substances and a CDT marker showing regular drinking. In the case of positive results, the person should have been sent to a narcological clinic for examination by a psychiatrist-narcologist and laboratory tests.
