In a rural area of the municipality of Río de Oro, a man was murdered, who received several gunshot wounds, while his brother was injured.
The incident occurred on Monday night near the sports complex of said town. Armed individuals who identified themselves as members of the ELN arrived there and attacked the brothers Damin and Isidro Ríos Chinchilla.
Apparently, the intention of the armed group was to take them to an unknown direction, however one of the victims tried to defend themselves by hitting one of the armed individuals dressed in military clothing, and they were immediately wounded by fire.
Damin Ríos Chinchilla died at the scene, at the same time as his brother, Isidro, managed to survive and was helped by some people who realized what happened.
Likewise, it was learned that the injured man was transferred to the Emiro Quintero Hospital in Ocaña, Norte de Santander, where he is in stable health conditions.
Regarding this case, the police authorities in Cesar indicated that the motive could be associated with the sale of drugs and the illegal group seeks to have control of the area.
