It is reported that the monkeys have killed 250 dogs and are now targeting villagers.
A group of monkeys in Majalgaon, India started a rampage after several dogs allegedly killed a baby monkey. News18 reports that when monkeys see a dog approaching, they grab it and throw it from a significant height to the ground.
In the neighboring village of Lavool, the monkeys have completely eradicated all the dogs. News18 reports villagers believe the monkeys are taking revenge on the dogs.

After all the dogs were killed in the village, the residents contacted the forest department officials to catch the monkeys. However, the officers did not manage to catch a single monkey.
After the forestry department was unable to catch the monkeys, the villagers started trying to save the dogs. But that made them the target of monkey attacks, and some even injured themselves or fell from buildings.
Villagers report that there are now almost no dogs left in the area but the monkeys have not stopped even after a month of raiding. Now, villagers are reporting that the monkeys are targeting small children and have created panic in the village.
Stephanie Poindexter, an assistant professor at SUNY Buffalo whose research focuses on the behavioral ecology of primates, says research has shown that animals – especially monkeys – can practice revenge.
