(CNN) – US Representative Seth Moulton said that he does not agree with the assessment of the Israeli army spokesman, Jonathan Conricus, that two civilians are killed for every Hamas gunman, and that he considers it a “very positive” ratio.
This came in an interview by Moulton with colleague Erin Burnett on CNN, where he asserted that the Israeli army spokesman was “very wrong.”
Moulton, a member of the House Armed Services Committee who served in Iraq, cited a study by retired Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal that found that “for every civilian killed, about 10 terrorists are recruited.”
Motlon said: “With this number, Israel has so far killed about 5,000 Hamas terrorists, but in this operation it has recruited about 100,000 new Hamas followers, and this is bad news for Israel,” noting that, in an opinion poll conducted before October 7, he indicated Six out of 10 Gazans indicate that they do not support Hamas.
Moulton continued: “Israel was heading towards a good situation where most of the Palestinians were against Hamas as well, and the concern now is that they have actually turned most of the Palestinians against Israel.”
