In response to Erick Thohir’s directive, Pupuk Kaltim is ready to boost the non-subsidized market to Asia Pacific

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim) is ready to follow the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir, regarding directions to enter the market fertilizer non-subsidized which has great potential.

President Director East Kalimantan fertilizer, Personal Grace said, in carrying out these instructions the company has been supported by very efficient and large-capacity production facilities.

“We are ready to follow directions from the government regarding the company’s focus on working on opportunities in the non-subsidized market,” said Rahmad, Friday (1/10/2021).

“Besides the obligation to fulfill subsidized fertilizers, we are also ready to compete and increase the market share of non-subsidized fertilizers, in fact we are also targeting an increase in market share in Asia Pacific,” he continued.

Rahmad revealed, the development and progress of agriculture in Indonesia has increased sharply, so the need for fertilizer getting taller.

“Production fertilizer not subsidi East Kalimantan fertilizer, specifically fertilizer urea, dominates a very large market share in Indonesia. Temporary fertilizer NPK has become an idol for farmers in increasing food production and horticulture and plantations,” said Rahmad.

Until September 21, 2021, Pupuk Kaltim’s domestic distribution of non-subsidized fertilizers has distributed 800,000 tons of Urea or 72 percent of the 1.1 million tons target, and 120,000 tons of NPK or 60 percent of the 200,000 tons target in 2021.

As previous information, SOE Minister Erick Thohir provide new directions for PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur to enter the market fertilizer non-subsidized which has enormous growth potential.

“We look at the map, market fertilizer non-subsidized continued to increase by 53 percent. With the SOE transformation strategy, we encourage one of the companies fertilizer, that is East Kalimantan fertilizer,” concluded Erick.
