In Quimper, Nolwenn Korbell sings Bertolt Brecht in front of students

This Tuesday, September 24, the reception hall of the University of Western Brittany (UBO) welcomed the singer Nolwenn Korbell during the lunch break for a half-hour performance.

The Théâtre de Cornouaille, which will host the artist in concert in March 2025 as part of the show So Breizh, was behind this performance at the university.

Nolwenn Korbell says she is “very happy to sing everywhere to democratize art and culture, outside the walls, without a dedicated place.”

Nolwenn Korbell and guitarist Didier Dréo in front of UBO students this Tuesday, September 24.

For this concert in front of the students, the artist had chosen to interpret texts by the German playwright Bertolt Brecht for the permanence of his words, which are still relevant today, but also for the poetry of his texts.

It was therefore accompanied by his guitarist, Didier Dréo, that the artist interpreted with his powerful voice and all the energy that characterizes him several songs by the author in his original language but also in English and French.

She notably performed an excerpt from “The Threepenny Opera”, a famous musical comedy by Bertolt Brecht.

The students, very happy with this local musical break, warmly applauded the duo and will certainly be keen to see Nolwenn Korbell again in Quimper next year at the Théâtre de Cornouaille.
