“I like him a lot, I like his energy, he arrives every day with a lot of concentration,” judges his coach, Tom Thibodeau. “He’s still a little rough around the edges, there are things he needs to work on, but he’s a hard worker, so he just needs to keep doing what he’s doing. He brings a lot of energy, there’s a defensive component to him, he likes contact, grabbing rebounds in traffic, running, that kind of thing… He needs to develop a certain form of consistency in his shooting and he works really hard on it. »
It is precisely the defensive qualities of Jacob Toppin which risk allowing him to stand out, despite competition from Duane Washington Jr, Charlie Brown Jr. or even Ryan Arcidiacono.
