In Portugal, an airport strike. Over 300 flights were canceled

Groundfource employees protest. They are demanding the payment of arrears as well as the improvement of working conditions. TAP authorities, which are the largest in Portugal passenger carrier and shareholder Groundforce, have announced the cancellation of most of their connections from Lisbon. In total, 301 out of 511 flights scheduled for that day had been canceled by Sunday afternoon.

Lisbon Portela Airport is Portugal’s largest airport.

In addition, the organizers of the strike confirmed that 34 other flights from Porto, Faro, Funchal and Porto Santo airports have also been canceled. Portuguese airports should be restored to normal operation on Monday, but the organizers of the strike have already announced that if their conditions are not met, they will organize further protests this summer.
