Baby Shark, SpongeBob, Yoda, Pikachu and their friends enchanted the streets of New York this Thanksgiving Day, during the traditional Macy’s Parade. And a key pop culture character has made his comeback, after more than ten years of absence: Po, the clumsy but courageous panda from the “Kung Fu Panda” films.
Hundreds of young and old children crowded the streets of the Big Apple to take part in the spectacle, which turned into a real party. According to Today16 character balloons, 26 floats, 32 heritage and fantasy balloons, more than 700 clowns, 12 brass bands and nine performance groups took part in this great gathering this year.
This was the 97th Thanksgiving parade, the first dating back to 1924. And it was Cher who took center stage during the parade, singing her new single “DJ Play A Christmas Song.”
