In pictures: Avignon Motor Passion – As the Name Implies, an Evening Delight

More than 2,000 exceptional cars gathered in Avignon for a weekend, as well as many events… This year again, for its 19th edition, the Avignon Motor Passion show lives up to its name.

An event on a national and even international scale, since it is nothing less than the third automobile event in France, after Paris and Lyon, as claimed by the organizers, Cam’s Organization and Avignon Tourisme. “Which proves the quality of the organization and a desire to federate”underlines the deputy mayor of Avignon, David Fournier.

350 exhibitors, more than 100 car clubs were present, and at least 25,000 visitors – last year’s score under a health pass – are expected. “It’s the first year post-covid, so we’re hoping to get back to pre-pandemic scale”, notes David Fournier. A priori, the organizers agree that things are off to a good start.

The organizers have made every effort to achieve this, with something to delight enthusiasts and impress laymen. On the enthusiast side, we note the presence of several unique copies, including a Lambert loaned by the Museums of France, concept cars, a tribute to the Bol d’Or, the Chevrolet Corvette, of which all generations since the birth of the model seventy years ago, are exhibited, and to the Porsche 911, which celebrates its sixtieth anniversary.

And in addition to racing or sports cars, the show also has a good place for motorcycles, military vehicles and trucks. “There are wonders in every hall”summarizes Camille Bourges, co-organizer with Florent Bourges.

For laymen, animations and demonstrations, such as dragster starts or demonstrations of radio-controlled trucks. “This show is a deliberately dynamic exhibition, with entertainment”supports Florent Bourges.
