As usual, the carriage is pulled by eight horses, but the Queen herself is not in the carriage. This is not the case during the parade either: film images of the day Elizabeth was crowned in 1953 are projected onto the windows of the carriage. On that day, the Queen rode through the streets of London in this golden carriage.

Usually seen when the Royal Stables at Buckingham Palace open, the coach was last used on the Queen’s Jubilee in 2002, before that on the Jubilee in 1972. Both times the Queen was then joined by her in 2021 deceased husband Prince Philip.
