On Wednesday morning, Kate visited the Salisbury Plain Training Area in Wiltshire to meet members of the 1st Battalion. She did that for the first time since she became a colonel. The wintry weather didn’t stop her, on the contrary. She took part in the battlefield exercises and helped the soldiers.
The princess also watched a medical training and an accident drill, including a briefing on explosive countermeasures. That is a training that is currently being given to Ukrainian armed forces.
Last December it was announced that Kate would be the new colonel of the Irish Guards. Previously, her husband, Prince William, held that position. But when the Queen died, he became Colonel of the Welsh Guard.
