A work inspired by traditional Japanese painting
Disembarked among spools of thread, we will get lost in wonder in a loom nippon, before flying over architecture while casting a curious glance at the intimate lives of the inhabitants, whose lives pass between laundry and pieces of music. Boris Labbé borrowed here the technique of fukinuki yataia typical process of traditional Japanese painting translatable as “roof removed”, which allows it to reveal the interior of buildingsas observed on the screens inspired by The Tale of Genjiliterary masterpiece of the 11th century.
