‘In our hands’this is the name of the impressive work of urban art with which the well-known artist landed in Spain for the first time. Saype and it does so less than two hours from Madrid, in the natural environment of a lagoon. An action carried out by the StepbyWater alliance that seeks to raise awareness about the need to protect water.
The work for which French artist Saype is internationally known is a plantan ephemeral work of art made about nature that plays with its forms and adapts to its structure to create giant and ultra-realistic paintings, made with biodegradable paint invented by himself. In addition to doing a work in Spain for the first time, it is also the first time that Saype intervenes in a lagoon. With this creation, it is evident that the solution to the water challenge is precisely ‘In our hands’. The action has been carried out in the Oropesa lagoon, in Calzada de Oropesa (Toledo), at the initiative of the Alianza StepbyWaterwith the aim of raising awareness about the disappearance of the original pre-existing wet surface and the need to take action to protect this resource and promote the search for solutions aimed at its recovery and sustainability.
