HENAN, KOMPAS.com – A mother in China willing to spend more than 1 million yuan (USD 2.1 billion) to build the two pedestrian bridges in front school his son.

Recently, he told Henan Television Station that the street in front of their son’s school is always busy when parents drop off or pick up their children.

Therefore, his heart was moved to build a pedestrian bridge in front of the school.
Another reason why Meng did it was because the school was located on a lowland and a constantly forming puddle on the road.

This caused his son to come home with wet feet all the time.
“The puddles are very deep and it is very difficult to cross the road. They look miserable. My child’s feet turned white because they were submerged in water, ”said Meng.

One of the pedestrian bridges is nearing completion and the second pedestrian bridge is in the foundation laying stage.
The construction is not illegal and has been approved by the local housing and urban-rural development bureau.

Meng said she never told her son that she was the one who paid for the construction of the overpass.
He only hopes that his contribution will help the children and the teaching staff at the school stay safe so that children can be guaranteed an education.
“I just did what I was able to do. Money is not taken away and I don’t have to leave too much money for my child, “continued Meng.
“I would call that bridge the Bridge of Wisdom. Hopefully the students crossing the bridge will be wiser and wiser, ”added Meng.
