In one month the grazing management plans for Epirus

In the context of the cooperation of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food with the relevant Regions for the Grazing Management Plans, following the publication of no. 164/2023 Act of the Court of Auditors, the new program contracts were signed today, May 15, by the Minister of Rural Development, Mr. Giorgos Georgantas and

a) the Regional Governor of Western Macedonia, Mr. Georgios Kasapidis, for the implementation of the project “Development of the Grazing Management Plan for the Region of Western Macedonia”, with a total budget of 1,949,213.90 euros,

b) the Regional Governor of Epirus, Mr. Alexandros Kahrimanis, for the implementation of the project “Elaboration of the Grazing Management Plan of the Epirus Region” with a total budget of 1,928,868.44 euros,

c) the Regional Governor of Central Greece, Mr. Fanis Spanos, for the implementation of the project “Development of the Grazing Management Plan of the Central Greece Region”, with a total budget of 2,374,646.40 euros,

d) the Regional Governor of Crete, Mr. Stavros Arnautakis, for the implementation of the project “Development of the Grazing Management Plan of the Region of Crete”, with a total budget of 2,120,313.52 euros,

e) the Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Mr. Christos Metios, for the implementation of the project “Development of the Grazing Management Plan of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace”, with a total budget of 1,800,102.86 euros.

With the programming contracts, the relevant Regions assume responsibility for the maturation, tendering and conducting of the tender procedures for the selection of contractors for the preparation of the studies for the grazing management plans. The duration of the programming contracts starts from the date of their signature and ends with the completion of the physical object and in any case until 31.12.2024.

The resources to finance the projects will come from the rents collected for the grazing rights that have been deposited in favor of each Region.

Given the expiration of the previous programming agreements, a pending issue of the Greek primary sector is resolved, a time-consuming issue for the country and livestock farmers is resolved, rational and modern livestock development policies are implemented and the risk of imposing further fiscal corrections is avoided, as they have been modified the special conditions and a strict timetable has been set and within a period of one month the relevant declarations will be published.

The signing of the program contracts with the Regions of the North Aegean, Western Greece and South Aegean is imminent, the plans of which have already been submitted for a pre-contractual legality check to the Commissioner of the Court of Auditors.
