The 169 Norwegian parliamentarians walked to the Royal Palace in Oslo on Thursday 28 October for their annual dinner with King Harald (84). This included the 36 politicians who voted for the republic. They also donned their tuxedos. The banquet was canceled last year due to the pandemic.
Once at the banquet, the king spoke. “If there’s one thing we’ve really learned since March last year, it’s the importance of modern technology that allows us to stay in touch. Great was the joy in my family when I took a cell phone. It only took me forty years.”
