The 81 cases of COVID-19 announced by Governor Rafael Lacava and confirmed at a press conference this Tuesday by the president of the Carabobeño Health Institute (Insalud), Juan Carlos Yánez, and the state epidemiologist are registered in nine municipalities of the state , Mary Help of Christians Rangel.

According to Yánez, 55 positive cases are imported and 26 are of community transmission, the latter located in Bejuma, Guacara, Juan José Mora, Valencia, Miranda and Libertador.

Yanez explained that of the 55 imported cases, 34 patients are isolated in the Comprehensive Diagnosis Centers (CDI) of Valencia Centro, Flor Amarillo, Santa Inés; La Begoña, in Naguanagua; Ciudad Alianza and Ruiz Pineda in Guacara; and Rancho Grande de Puerto Cabello.

These people reside in Naguanagua, Puerto Cabello, Diego Ibarra, Valencia and Guacara.

Nine other patients are in sentinel hospitals, one distributed in the Simón Bolívar de Mariara hospital, two in the Ángel Larralde university in Naguanagua, four in the González Plaza in Naguanagua and two in the Puerto Cabello Naval Hospital.

Thirteen people have already recovered, including the 9-month-old girl who lives in the Candelaria parish in Valencia.

25 people are kept in home isolation, between imported and community cases, who undergo epidemiological follow-up and daily home visits. “Those who are in home isolation is because the viral load is low. The transmission period has passed, they are not at risk of infecting any person. They are fully supervised to discharge them once the PCR control tests arrive. ”

Yánez indicated that 95% of the positive cases are asymptomatic and there are no seriously ill patients in the entity from Carabobo.

More than 7 thousand people have entered Carabobo

The Insalud president reported that so far 193 compatriots who arrived from Colombia, Peru, and Chile are in the Olympic Village. The rapid test was applied and they are awaiting the PCR tests.

The Insalud president detailed that from April 12 to date 7,451 compatriots have arrived in Carabobo, of which 4,992 are men and 3,359 are women, 134 of them in pregnancy.

They have carried out 653 PCR tests on people who arrived from other borders and almost 50 thousand rapid tests throughout the Carabobeña entity.

Discrepancy in the figures

The figures of positive cases by COVID-19 of the Ministry of Health do not agree with those announced by the regional authorities.

The Carabobo homeland system map shows 46 cases, but the regional authorities confirmed 81.

As explained by Yanez, the discrepancy is in the count of imported cases. “Community members have them the same because they are the PCR that leave from here to the Institute of Hygiene in Caracas. The imported cases were confirmed with PCR tests done at the border or in the state, that is where there is the difference ”.

Focus Plant Center

Yanez assured that the focus of contagion of workers in the electrical industry in Juan José Mora is controlled. Patients are kept isolated in the Planta Centro camps.

Regarding the nine-month-old girl in the La Candelaria parish in Valencia, he said that she is recovered and the authorities are monitoring the case.

Prevention

The President of Insalud urged Carabobeños to comply with the voluntary quarantine, wear a mask, wash their hands and maintain social distance to avoid an increase in the number of those infected by COVID-19
