In New York the electricity comes from the neighbors

In the US metropolis, neighbors produce green electricity and trade it with one another via a blockchain. So they attack the monopoly of the energy suppliers.

Lawrence Orsini stands on a flat roof in Brooklyn, New York, and points out the Manhattan skyline. There, Thomas Edison built the world’s first power station, which initially used coal to supply less than 100 customers with energy for light bulbs. Orsini is a modern electricity pioneer. His start-up company LO3 Energy is working on an intelligent small power grid. About 300 neighbors in Brooklyn have come together for this purpose. They produce their own electricity with solar systems. When the test phase is over, they should be able to trade electricity with one another.
