In New York, the Dia: Chelsea reopens after two years of work

In 2019, the Dia Art Foundation embarked on a vast project to renovate several of its galleries, including the essential Dia: Chelsea, a pioneer in the development of the artistic scene in this district. It is the New York agency ARO (Architecture Research Office), already at the origin of the recent restoration of the Rothko Chapel, who oversaw the expansion of the gallery. Bringing together the three existing venues in a single entity, the new space now offers an exhibition area of 1,850 square meters, allowing it to present large-scale works. If we add to this a new discussion space and a bookstore, a total of 3,000 square meters will be added to the initial surface for a more coherent visit.
