NEW YORK.- In the last hours, several measures that were suspended in this city due to Covid-19 have come into force, a place where more than 800 thousand Dominicans reside.
Among them, the restaurants can already accept 50% of the customer capacity inside them, instead of the 35% that was what prevailed, but they must continue to close at 11:00 at night.
As of this Monday, the 22nd, the schools will open their doors to more than 55 thousand high school students in person, who represent 20% of the total of students in higher grades.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) now only recommends three feet of distance between students instead of six.
Also, this Monday, the 22nd, the restriction that prevented classes inside gyms or sports clubs will end. Of course, they must have a 33% capacity limit and take the temperature of the attendees.
Additionally, 80% of adult New Yorkers are already eligible to be vaccinated against Covid-19. Now everyone can request an appointment at any center run by the State and the City, Health authorities said.
Pharmacies are the only providers limited to serving people 60 and older, including education workers and teachers.
