This benefit will be for workers in the Tourism Industry and Services
The candidate for governor for the Solidarity Encounter Party (PES), Adonai Carreón, reported that his government is going to hire a Contingency Insurance for Employment, which will help prevent families that depend on the tourism industry and services from becoming are left without a livelihood in the event of claims.
He expressed: “In addition to the pandemic, our State is vulnerable to meteorological phenomena, which has generated in past experiences that companies have to close due to damages, leaving their workers unemployed, with this measure we will be able to face it.”
The PES candidate was punctual in saying that workers who depend on tourism are among the most vulnerable, because most of their salary is compensated with tips, which are interrupted when businesses close their doors in season of hurricanes
He added that this measure will have certain selection criteria and will be aimed at people in the tourism and services sector, between 18 years and up to 67 years 11 months, who have lost their job, who will receive support with which can meet their basic needs.
He concluded: “Our duty will be to help everyone with opportunities, so that they can cover the essential expenses of their homes, such as food, in case of losing their job, because currently there are families that do not have a secure livelihood and do not they receive any kind of support from the government ”.
