In Moscow on March 6, cinema screens will show “Swan Lake” instead of Hollywood films

In Russia, instead of Hollywood films, ballet will be shown in cinemas. So, from March 6, the ballet of the Bolshoi Theater “Swan Lake” will be shown on movie screens in Moscow.

This publication reports Cultured. The first such screening will take place at the “KARO 11 October” cinema on March 6 at 14:00.

The ballet is planned to be broadcast until March 28 in various cinema chains throughout Moscow.

Note that during the Soviet Union, the ballet “Swan Lake” was shown on TV on the days of the death of general secretaries, as well as during the August 1991 coup. Thus, the authorities occupied all television broadcasting channels in order to divert the attention of the people from the events in the country.

The Kremlin is consistently copying the USSR in this matter – Swan Lake is already being broadcast on TV screens.

We add that, in addition to “Swan Lake”, films of past years will soon be returned to the screens of cinemas in Russia: “Kholop” (2019), “Upward Movement” (2017) and “Dad” (2021). The decision was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Some Russian films will be released earlier than expected to fill the gap in the screening schedule created by sanctions against Russia over the war in Ukraine by The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros. and Sony Pictures. The long-awaited novelties from the world of cinema will not be shown in Russia.

As OBOZREVATEL reported earlier, international business is increasing the isolation of Russia, which unleashed a war in Ukraine. So, furniture giants IKEA and JYSK announced the stoppage of work in the Russian Federation.
